XWP Stories - K

(The) Keeper of my Soul...Always by Alex P.
Recommended by: bedbard - 01.21.01
Classification: Classic
Sex/Violence Content: Alt, PG-13
Length: Incomplete

While Xena leads some villagers on the offensive against a wannabe warlord, the Amazon Queen, needs to sort out some tribal disputes. Upon return to the preposed meeting place her lover and bard is taken by an army of slavers. Nice read so far on the "what happens next" issue. If this story continues in the same style, I would call it a must read.

Keystones in Tapestry by Ambyrhawke Shadowsinger
Recommended by: Rocky - 08.31.99
Classification: Classic
Sex/Violence Content: Alt/PG-13
Length: Short Story, 48 pages - Complete

Still aching from "Ides of March"? I stumbled across this very tender short story that made me feel better, I'm hoping that it will you too.

"Keystones in Tapestry" by Ambyrhawke Shadowsinger is the sharpest piece of speculation on the up coming season that I've seen so far. Explanations about how our heroes will return are very savvy to the point that this could almost be considered a spoiler. Read if you dare. I know you will enjoy it. Warning this is a two hankie tale.

Kill Shot by Lela Kaunitz
Recommended by: odd bird - 10.22.99
Classification: Uber
Sex/Violence Content: Alt
Length: Incomplete

Kill Shot left me wanting more and completely satisfied at the same time. It is a thrilling and riveting read involving an assasin and her intended target. To tell more would take all the fun out of it. I enjoyed everything about this story-the writing style, the reversal of uber archetypes, the plot twists, the ending and the fact that I couldn't stop reading until I finished it.

Kill Shot by Lela Kaunitz
Recommended by: Vivian Darkbloom - 10.25.99
Classification: Uber
Sex/Violence Content: Alt
Length: Incomplete

On the surface, "Kill Shot" resembles a standard uber thriller: Corey is an embittered, emotionally vulnerable assassin, and Jill-her intended target-is a sweetly naïve bookstore manager. But before you can scream "couples therapy!" the story grabs you by the throat, courtesy of a sleek, complex (yet readily understandable and entirely believable) narrative with shifting perspectives and effective flashbacks, plot twists, great dialogue, and a writing style so tight you could bounce a dime off it-indeed, in the fanfic world, Lela's writing is the Gab's Abs (as opposed to the bee's knees). Did I just say that? Ignore me now, and go read.or else I'll put a contract out on you.
